If you haven’t heard, there’s a new nylon carpet fiber called Antron. It has some significant benefits over the other nylon fibers already on the market. So, let’s talk about it.
What makes Antron different?
The Antron fiber has a different shape. If you cut away other nylon fibers, they look like wheels with spokes. Antron fibers look square and are hollow inside.
Something as simple as a change in the shape of fiber offers several advantages. Antron fibers hide dirt, but don’t hold on to it. So, it’s much easier to clean the dirt out of Antron-fiber carpeting.
Dirt that is sharp or abrasive like grains of beach sand doesn’t damage Antron fibers like other trilobal fibers because the sand falls between the fibers instead of getting stuck in the fibers. That older trilobal shape traps dirt and makes it easy for dirt to abrade the fiber.
Antron fibers have the DuraTech treatment, which further protects the fiber and makes the carpeting even easier to clean by enabling the Antron fibers to release dirt efficiently.
Nylon carpeting made of Antron can last 75 percent longer than other nylon carpeting. That’s a significant benefit to your bottom line.
This new fiber shape is also more resistant to crushing or lying down, which means the carpeting is going to look better and retain its profile better. Commercial carpeting that stands up to heavy foot traffic is a must.
And, if that wasn’t enough, Antron also has a tighter molecular structure than other nylon fibers, and this means that Antron is more resistant to stains. It’s harder for stains to get into the fibers. It’s estimated that Antron is 10 times more resistant to stains than other nylon fibers.
So, let see. Antron is going to look better for longer, be easier to clean, be more resistant to stains, and last longer. What’s not to like?
We’re really excited about this new fiber, and we can’t wait to see more of it being used in commercial spaces where it’s sorely needed. Antron fiber represents a real advancement in commercial carpeting technology. Talk to us about Antron carpeting today.
